SCHEDULE
DAY 01: SAT, AUG. 16
You will learn how to make a professional video to showcase you and your artwork:
• how to use a digital camera to capture interesting footage of your studio, process, and setup the camera for a self-produced interview.
• experiment using multiple perspectives and angles in capturing things you feel illustrates your work and process. How can you get someone you do not know interested in your work? What do you want them to see and know, what do you want to share?
• with the video-editing software Adobe Premiere Pro 6 you’ll learn how to create a 1:00-2:00 min. video highlighting your work. You will also learn how to use this program and how to edit using visually interesting images & illustrative dialogue to produce a compelling piece.
• learn how export your video to be viewed on Vimeo, YouTube, Wordpress, or other online platforms enabling you to showcase your work. This is a good way to bring your work to life before the viewer giving them a chance to hear you talk about your work, and making it locally, nationally, and internationally accessible.

DAY 02: SUN, AUG. 17
You will learn how to create a professional free webpage, blog, and newsletter. Also you will learn how to build an identity for your artwork across multiple social media platforms. In addition, I will discuss how to use crowd surfing sites like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and GoFundMe to raise funds for your projects.
• learn how to setup a free space to showcase your work that can be easily managed and updated.
• learn how to use and setup free sites like Wordpress, Tumbler, or other sites to showcase your work. How to buy and setup a domain name for your artwork site, and why is this important to own your name?
• Learn how to setup and maintain a Twitter, Facebook, Mailchimp, and blog account; and how this helps create a network for your artwork allowing ‘followers’ or ‘fans’ to keep up with your work. This aspect of networking also helps you find communities you would like to become associated with nationally and internationally. It also allows for free or low cost ways to inform a large amount of people (specifically interested in your work) about exhibits, events, and artist talks etc.
• You will learn valuable information on how to prepare, setup, and execute a crowd funding campaign to raise funds for projects. Learn the challenges and rewards of raising funds in this manner and what kind of work goes into these kinds of campaigns.
